COMPLIMENTARY "GUIDED TREE TALKS" WITH JENNIFER HITCHCOCK
CHICAGO, IL — Chicago's neighborhoods abound with stately tree specimens. Yet — unfortunately — few Chicagoans are able to distinguish an oak from an elm; and even fewer know how to help trees survive the rigors of the urban environment. Jennifer Hitchcock hopes to change that. Through a series of complimentary "Guided Tree Talks," Jennifer will educate members of the City's neighborhood organizations about their community's arboricultural assets.
ABOUT "GUIDED TREE TALKS"
Any neighborhood organization — such as a homeowners association or garden club — may schedule a "Guided Tree Talk" during weekdays or weeknights. These hour-long informational tours focus on the trees growing in the organization's immediate area and provide helpful how-to's regarding tree species identification and proper tree care practices. To schedule an appointment, a minimum of three individuals from the organization must commit to participating in the tour.
ABOUT JENNIFER HITCHCOCK
Jennifer Hitchcock is an International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) certified arborist employed by Autumn Tree Care Experts. Additionally, Jennifer is an instructor for various Illinois Arborist Association (IAA) workshops, she is the host of "Windy City Green Scene" on Cable 25, and she is a volunteer for the Illinois Master Gardener Program. Before moving to Illinois, Jennifer taught horticulture courses as part of the University of Florida's extension service, wrote a weekly gardening Q&A column for the Orlando Sentinel, and hosted a call-in gardening program on one of Florida's PBS television stations. Jennifer is passionate about all things green and holds a Master's of Science degree in environmental horticulture from the University of Florida.
