The emerald ash borer is already responsible for the death of more than 15 million North American ash trees. These shade trees comprise approximately 20% of our urban forest, and every one of them is at risk. The Garden has joined forces with its Principal Tree Care partner Autumn Tree, a SavATree company, to develop a multiple phase emerald ash borer management plan. Using this plan as a case study, the seminar will include: necessary first steps to take to preserve ash trees; a demonstration of the most effective EAB treatment, including which trees are candidates and which are not: and how to anticipate changes to the local landscape in the coming years.
